| Lee Emerson- Owner of Emerson Carpet One Lee is the current and longtime owner of Emerson Carpet One Floor & Home in Baton Rouge, LA. He got his start selling carpet remnants he’d obtained from his father’s carpeting store, Lee began making the rounds in his old station wagon, selling remnants to students living in the dormitories. Lee completed his studies in 1986 and, in 1994 moved the business in a brick-and-mortar store his wife had designed. A year later, the family business joined Carpet One Floor & Home, North America’s largest cooperative of independently owned-and-operated flooring stores. He is training his two daughters and the next generation of the family, Ariane and Olivia, to take over the business in the future.
